Payments

Can I make international payments?

Yes, you can make international payments in EUR via SEPA (The Single Euro Payments Area), send USD to the US via ACH (Automated Clearing House), and receive +30 currencies via SWIFT (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunications).

To send a payment in EUR via SEPA, you’ll first need to request your EURO SEPA details and accept the SEPA T&Cs available here. You can find your SEPA details in the app by going to Pay >  select your account from stacked accounts > under International account details > tap Euros > Share details to send them to your customers in SEPA countries and receive payments from them.

To make a SEPA or international transfer, just go to Pay >  select your account from stacked accounts  > Send > Send money abroad > select your currency, then enter the recipient’s details, amount and reference, and confirm your payment.

To send an international payment in USD to the US via ACH, go to Pay >  select your account from stacked accounts > under International account details > tap US Dollar, then activate USD Payments. After that, you’ll be able to enter the amount, reference, and recipient’s details, approve the recipient, and confirm the payment.

We’ll apply an FX markup, based on your plan:

  • Tide Standard / Free: 1.50% FX markup

  • Tide Smart:  1.25% FX markup

  • Tide Pro: 0.75% FX markup

  • Tide Max: 0.50% FX markup

If you’re moving currencies with SEPA or ACH, there’s also a transfer fee applied:

  • Tide Standard / Free: £1 per payment

  • Tide Smart: 0.50p per payment

  • Tide Pro: Unlimited free transfers

  • Tide Max: Unlimited free transfers

You can also receive international payments in GBP via SWIFT. To do this, go to Pay >  select your main account from stacked accounts > under International account details > SWIFT in the app, and tap Share to send your details to payors.

If you’re receiving currencies with SWIFT, these are your transaction fees (with the above FX fees applying):

  • Tide Standard / Free: £10 per payment

  • Tide Smart: £7.50 per payment

  • Tide Pro: £5 per payment

  • Tide Max: £3 per payment

You can’t send payments via SWIFT or receive USD via ACH, but we’ll let you know if this becomes possible in the future.

All EUR, USD, and SWIFT payments are subject to eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria is set internally between ourselves and our partner, and we’re not able to disclose this for security reasons.
