Making Deposits

Can I add money to my Tide account with a credit or debit card?

Yes, you can add money to your Main or Additional Tide Business Current Account with a Visa or Mastercard debit or credit card, issued in the UK and in GBP.

Top ups can’t exceed:

  • £3,000 per single transaction

  • £3,000 per day (or 24 hours)

  • £20,000 per week (or 7 days)

  • £30,000 per month (or 30 days)

We only count your deposits within the set time (for example, 24 hours). Once you've made your last top-up and the time is up, your limits reset.

All your card top-ups are free.

How do I add money to my account with a card?

In the app, tap Pay > select your account from stacked accounts. Then tap:

Get paid > Add money > Debit or credit card > enter amount > review amount > add card details and confirm.

If you’re using Apple Pay or Google Pay:

Get paid > Add money > Apple Pay or Google Pay > enter amount > review amount > Select the saved card and confirm.

You should see the money in your Tide account within a few minutes.

My top-up was unsuccessful – what should I do?

You can’t use a card to add money to your account if you’re connected to the internet outside the UK.

If the amount is debited from your card but the transaction then fails, the money will be automatically refunded within 3-5 business days.

If a top-up doesn’t go through, and you haven’t gone over any of the limits mentioned in the above FAQ, please check that:

  • Your card is a Visa or Mastercard, issued in the UK and in GBP.

  • You have a sufficient amount or credit available.

  • Your bank hasn’t blocked the transaction.

If none of these apply, tap the 'Support' icon (in the top right) in your app and we'll help you.

Does Tide store my card’s details?

No, we don’t store your card details, and we’ve partnered with Adyen to facilitate the processing of payments.
